    Question Modem Connection.... help needed....

    holla....

    referring to this link :
    http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.p...hreadid=293179

I need to ask about the modem.....
    Let's say I have 2 modems (Modem-A and Modem-B)

    I need to dial Modem-B from Modem-A
    ....
My question is, should I do any set-up at Modem-B ? so whenever I dial from Modem-A, modem-B will auto answer the call, and then get connected with modem-A ???

if so, what set-up should I do ?

    FYI,
Modem-B autoanswer (AA) lamp is ON since I've set the AA lamp to ON, but still, modem-B doesn't give any respon whenever I dial from Modem-A...
    Regards,

you need to setup modem B using AT commands, use the AT command reference from your modem.

let's say that you need to set up the kind of data transfer and to answer after 2 rings.

a generic string i use is:

    AT&F&C1&D2S0=2&W

i won't explain here what all this means byut the S0=2 part sets the modem to answer automatically after 2 ringtones.

    cheers,

    wc.

as per my previous post, use the AT command reference from your modem. every modem has its own, though there are common commands.
