Hi,

I use VB5 to write partner programs for SCADA systems.

I'm interested in possibly writing a GINA solution to customize the NT start-up / log-in process i.e. replace images / dialogs etc...

I'm working with NT 4.0 Workstation SP5/6 (it varies between sites).

Can this be done in VB or do I need to use C++.

I would also be interested to know if I can completely hide the taskbar dependant on which user is logged in. I'm currently using the registry to lock the user down but the context menus in the tray still work. It is important that I can get rid of this facility as virus / backup software can be stopped / started by this means.

It is unusual that a user manages to shut down the SCADA system anyway but if they do I really want to present them with a completely blank screen or an image of some sort so that all they can do is restart the machine (the SCADA will restart automatically).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Rob Brown.
