I'll have to think about it It just depends on how much spare time I can muster up. We are trying to get our own business started and I have a few apps to write for that too. was just curious what you were trying to write.

Dennis, although you have a reputation to uphold as the forum smart-ass, you really piss me off when you post stupid replies to perfectly serious posts.

What kind of apps are you going to write? I know you said they are to do with Islamic stuff, but I mean what sort of stuff in programming terms. Like, what languages? What kind of things you gonna do? Modelling/simulation? Databases? Internet/intranet stuff? Other kinds of networking?

Perhaps you could write an app which converts your to you're in kovan's posts!
English may not be your first language but
your (possessive pronoun)
does not mean the same as
you're (short for "you are")
misuse of this really P****s me off!

I think several people on this thread are being decidedly UNopen-minded about this. I am not a Muslim, and neither is zmerlinz, or Cybrg641. We volunteer our time to help with kovan's group, which, incidentaly, does not produce "Submission to God" software. The software made by the group aims to teach people (who want to learn) about Islam. Although, as I have mentioned before, I am not Muslim, I see this as a cause worthy of my best efforts. Before jumping down Kovan's throat guys, perhaps have a little consideration. He is trying to help those who follow, and would like to learn more about, his religion, which is something he cares about. You might try remembering this sometime. If there are any open-minded people reading this who are willing to dedicate time and effort to our group, send an email to kovan at [email protected].

I assume that your post is directed at me since you used a term I used.
kovan said "Islam" means "Peace" and/or "Submission to God". So it follows that "Islamic Software", which is what he wants to assemble this programming group to write, can be "Peace Software" and/or "Submission to God Software".
As you have stated, "The software made by the group aims to teach people (who want to learn) about Islam.", this is also the impression I got from kovan (whether he directed it at ONE non-Muslim person OR to a group of NON-Muslim persons). So when I inquired about the project and whether he might be using Java, he instead demonstrated prejudice and informed me that I would not be welcome.
He also insulted me and called me a liar (indirectly) since he believes Islam to be the truth and denies my search for truth and learning about the truth.
In response, I wished him good luck on his project.
I will entertain apologies for the next 48 hours.
That is all.

first i did NOT call you a lair
directly or indirectly regarding ANYTHING in this thread
and i never said your not welcome
it just would be ironic for someone who attacks islam as much as he can, then all of a sudden decides "oh cool, i wanna help make the software so people can learn this religion"
the offer was there EVERYONE
if you read the post i said same to jdavison
i said samething as i said above, it just would be ironic
but he is still welcome
and you on the other hand...
now let me say it
are NOT welcome
the software is ONLY for those that want to LEARN about islam and for those that want to extend their knowledge of islam..
cybersurfer PUT IT WELL
he and neither 4 other members of the group are muslims
and they were all kind enough to help out
cybersurfer, cybrg and the magician are probably the MOST dedicated people withing the group
i dont force my religion on anyone, i expect the SAME in return, i have tons of fun having these 3 wonderful individuals help me out with my projects
the offer still stands,
anyone who is OPEN minded is welcome to join
VVB since i dont think you are open minded at ALL your not welcome to join
i respect these 3 individuals very much....
keeup up the good work guyz
"Peace Software" sounds good to me
make software that brings peace
now thats just COOL

That's why I said, "I called your bluff".
However, I still wished you good luck with your project. I just hope the meaning of "Islam" is always present.
Assuming "Islam" means "Peace" and/or "Submission to God".
kovan, I must say that I am honored that you DO NOT include me among your ranks.
In the mean time... "BeConvinced".

VVB, the post wasn't directed at you. I was just emphasising the un-open-mindedness of some (not only or even you, naming no names) people who have posted in this thread. Sorry if the poast offended you, no offence was intended.

What the ?????
What is so un-open minded about not really wanting to
perform free labor? You take off on Dennis, when what he
said was EXACTLY what I was thinking. You want to work for
free? Fine...do so.
Kovan wants to ask for free help? No problem. Don't get
high and mighty when the rest of the world doesn't feel
like being generous with their time.
