I don't know why this palce allows images or vbcode in sigs.
I turned sigs off in my profile so no one bothers me with them. They're useless anyway.
Also, people signing posts is annoying

Re: Why do some people have huge sigs?
Previous to you posting this I asked him to make his signature smaller and I assume he will. I don't know if the is a software limit to the length of signatures but when I see one the size of his I ask people to make them smaller and I've never had anyone refuse (but perhaps that's because they know that I can change it and they just don't want to p*** me off). I believe that v3 of the forum software will have an option to prohibit pictures in signatures and if so I think that that is what we will be doing.

Kasracer speaks the truth.

I believe that that's the case.

You can turn VB tags and/or images off in signatures last time I played with the vBull demo version on their site (before 3.0 came out).
If, for some retarded reason, it isn't on this version (it should be unless it's quite old), then JupiterMedia really needs to move to a newer version or something else like IPB which has been shown to be faster than vBull 3.0 and has a ton of options FOR FREE.

A couple of comments -
Most people have not abused signature images. Those that have used images we considered inappropriate have graciously fixed them when asked by a moderator. As such, I don't want to punish everyone for a few people who can't do what they are asked by the moderators. If someone gives 'flack' back to a moderator when asked to do something such as change or shrink images in a sig, then it is grounds for being banned. Harsh, but hey, we don't want chaos . (plus, I don't know of any cases that have gone that far... )
As to versions of vBulletin. This forum is kept on the most recent copy or very nearly so. The System Admin has been keeping it upgraded regularly (remember the icon color change was because he upgraded to the newest point release and messed things up). As to version 3.0 -- it isn't an official release yet. Additionally, it is a resource hog. Hopefully they are working to make it a little more efficient. I keep pushing to upgrade to it.

Stuck in the 80s
If I post a huge imagine in my signature just so I can get a PM from you Martin -- will that get me in trouble?
I just want attention.

Supreme User
I shortened mine down to, i show useful site links for users to view.
I think there should be a limit, for users like me using a 56K modem dont fancy waiting a few extra minutes to load some huge sig up
