Know what you want to show in advance. Plan it. Then run through this scripted presentation on your machine a couple of times in advance. Then don't change anything. Meander from your script for minor questions, but if someone wants to see something that could potentially mess up what you are demoing, then save it for the end ("So you can make sure you show all the key items first").
Create a handout that you can leave with the potential customer. This can be some of the key screen shots and some key that points on your product. (think marketing and glitz). The potential customer should be able to use this to take any notes as well as have as something that you 'leave behind'.
These are just a couple of suggestions. Hope they help.
Brad!
