MS Outlook 97 Archive problem, please help or advise

I am puzzled, one of my users has restored their sent items in outlook from thier archive folder and now when they select archive to archive them back again, outlook does nothing! Does Outlook attach a hidden flag at all to indicate that it has been archived once already? How can i either remove said flags or else re-archive the offending items?

Has anyone else come across this problem before?

Auto archive knows the last date a message was modified. If the modify date was changed on the message then it probably doesn't qualify for auto archive any more. There is a special auto archive field you can check too: Right click on the columns names at the top of the window and select 'Field Chooser'. In the Field Chooser window, select the dropdown for 'All Mail Fields'. In the list of fields drag the 'Do Not AutoArchive' field to your columns in your outlook window. Once the column is set you will see a list of checkboxes. Make sure the box is clear for the messages you want auto archived.

*These procedures are based on Outlook XP. Although they are the same for Outlook 2000, the available fields may differ.
