Packaging VB6 + CR9 with Installshield9
I had problems registering some dependencies for CR9 with installshield9. The program was coded in vb6. Anyone knows anything of these Dlls and any ideas?
Just have to say... Installshield 9 is extremely nice to work with.
I have googled and visit a few sites including CR knowledgebase.
After install on test machines, i get Component Registration Error on:
sastarter.dll
crtslv.dll
filedialog.dll
datadefmodel.dll
rptcontroller.dll
clientdoc.dll
commonobjmodel.dll
crqe.dll
crtemplate.dll
objectfactory.dll
rptdefmodel.dll
The program uses CRViewer9 connect with DAO to the database. The program originally uses CR7 and i migrated to CR9 due to some errors but were solved. Now the issue is the Report won't work once being installed. I keep getting Error 50003 - "Report won't load".
tested packaging VB6+CR7 with Installshield9 and find CR7 works perfectly after couple scans by Installshield9.
Anyone knows the exact dependencies for CR9 for VB6 without any fancy stuff except see and print the reports? I have gone through the CR knowledgebase's site and found a page for this, but found my report not working still even when those specified dependencies are installed.
Thanks beforehand.

check the runtime.chm file in the Crystal Decisions directory.
Make sure you get them all...and read carefully....

This is becoming rather amusingly frustrating... like having monkeys running amok in my head...
I added the required merge modules including the licensing module and had tried the registration code then the serial in there, but i keep getting a series of dlls not being registered and... of course report failed to load.
Report failed to load and Dlls not registering may just be the symptoms of something that is missing or did.
The one million dollar question... Any idea of what anyone?

I have not used Install Shield...so not sure what to tell you on the registering....
I used Inno with all my installs, and once I got all the dll's and dependencies....everything went fine (it was just a long way there)...
here is a link for the Inno Script, VBCode, etc..... if you are interested...sorry cant be more help with Install Shield.
