    Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how I can unprotect a control in an Excel
    Sheet.

I have tried doing it through the normal format Control Menu
but when I look the sheet it will not allow me to change the value of the Dropdown box. It throws out the general Protection error.

Has anyone come acroos this one before.

Any Help / Advice would be great.

    Thanks in advance,

I just thought if you click on the tools menu and protect the option would be there to unprotect.

    Tried that but no joy.

I think it may be because most of the sheet is protected it won't allow any changes to be made to the cells that the control may change if selected........

trying to think of a way around this????

    any ideas????

Thanks in advance and thanks for your reply

THis may not be your answer but try going to format-Cells on the tab protections and maybe click off of locked. I don't know if this will work but you can try it.

    good luck
