Windows Shell
I've got two questions.
- What is the Windows shell? (is it explorer.exe - if not what is explorer.exe)?
- What language is the windows shell written in?

The shell as far as windows is concerned is the graphical interface. And yes its explorer.exe.

In windows explorer.exe is the shell. In other OS' what you are saying is true. Windows always does things differently

I dont. Didnt realize they had changed it.
You also have to realize that Windows stuff just about everything into either the kernel or explorer.exe. Plus just to about everything is hardwired to each other in one way or another. So normal definitions of how an OS works gets warped in the Windows world. Its really ahrd to classify.
