    Question

Hi everyone, I would be VERY appriciative if someone could clear this up for me please.

I am continually stopping work on my web page. I want to learn a language to create web sites, I come from a vb background, so want to use vbscript, but do not know which structure to use.

I was using ASP, then had second thoughts as I want a language which is newish and will help me if I want to go into web development. I thought about xml after looking into MS's .net suite, but have been warned that this may not be the way foreward and was advised to learn xhtml.

HELP!!! which one do you guru's suggest? I want one which will be around for a while, and in demand, so I think either xml or xhtml is a good idea, but I am SOOOO confused.

Thank you for ANY suggestions. If xml IS the way forward, can anyone suggest a good site to explain / teach the .css part (part which tells the browser how to display the code as a web page) of this please?

    THANK YOU!!!!!

    hmmm

here is the order of priority i put them in
vb(since .net does use the FULL power of vb, not its *****, vb script), jscript, c#
    thats the language
    then comes XML
asp+ is going to use xml
so you better know either c#, vb, or jscript

    right now
asp is the way to go
    php sucks (o boy)

Just wanted someone to confirm it, I am Ok with VB & VBscript and am reading up on .net

Since you mentioned xml there, I was considering using this rather than html with the vbscript. Any ideas on any tutorial sites for the layout please?

I can find loads on the tags and general information, but the stylesheet / .css or whatever it's called to tell the browser how to display the page other than a load of text is puzzling me as I can't find that anywhere.

(ps, like the descriptions - "not its *****")

    Thank you!
