    .NET - Office 97 Incompatibilty?

    After installing VS.NET on a very stable, pretty basic Win 2K machine, various Office 97 Pro apps, mainly Excel and Outlook, now occassionally crash with no apparent pattern.

    Anybody experience this?

    Do I need a dedicated .NET development OS install?

    Haven't had that problem (don't use 97 anymore), but I have experience some weird stuff if I install vs.net first, then office 2k or xp after it. You will get dialog after dialog all the time trying to install or configure something.
    Always install Office first, then the VS.net editor.
