[Resolved] Changing User Directory in Windows
I have two partitions on my hard drive, one for the OS and one for files. I want to, from time to time, format the OS partition, but not lose my files. Hence the partitions.
The problem is that windows stories the user information (desktop properties, favorites, cookies, etc) in C:\WINDOWS\Profiles\ on Windows ME.
I found a registry value that specifies this folder, and tried changing it to a folder I setup on my other partition (D:\). I copied the files from the C:\ folder to the D:\ folder, then rebooted.
This didn't work, however, and it loads the default (ie, no user) files for each user setup.
So my question is: how can I change this and get it to work as planned?

I think tweakUI can change this for you. Try it. But you should install that each time you format and reinstaal the OS.

I'll give it a look later. Thanks.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner. tweakUI worked for the most part. There were a few folders it didn't change, but I was able to track down the correct registry entries after using it.
Thanks.
