    heat and fan

    what happens if i decide not to change a spoilt fan to my processor (am changing it i just want to know the effect of heat on the processor)

    There might happen nothing (PC still works fine) but a one moment the processor will say bye bye, it is to hot I die.

    The pc would freeze regulary or the chip would stop working permanently possibly damaging the motherboard at the same time.

    It would depend on the chip.

    If it's a good Intel chip then just a heatsink might make it run suitably... although the excess heat would cause stress, making the CPU's life shorter.

    Also, a slower chip needs no where near the thermal conductivity of a good heatsink to function properly.
