Can I attach an external keyboard to a laptop computer?

Can I attach an external keyboard to a laptop computer?

I know it may sound unusual but I want to do it because I am afraid of damaging original keyboard if I play too much games with it.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Just shove it in the back and it should work.

If its PS/2 then you *may* have to reboot or something. USB will be PnP.

Most(?) laptops are compatible with what are called docking stations. You can plug in a keyboard and/or a monitor and probably other peripherals as well.

siyan's response is the easiest. Most laptops have a PS/2 port for either a mouse or a keyboard. You could also get a USB keyboard, that way you wouldn't have to restart to install it.
