    Sticking my oar in...

...it might even cost 2 cents...

Dream... I've read all the posts and I don't grasp what you consider misleading about the concept of percentages?

You keep talking about the 'literal meaning' but people generally don't understand percentages so 'literally'. They understand % as a concept - an easy method of comparison in relation to a whole.

You argue that multiplying by 100 hundred adds nothing to the understanding, well if it adds nothing, it must be the same? (x + 0 = x)

If you went around saying all words should be understood by their litteral meanings you'd never get anywhere...

Would all people called Smith have to be blacksmiths?
    All Coopers make barrels?
    All Chandlers make candles?
Would we have to worship the Sun on Sunday?
    Thor on Thursday?

    Etc. etc.

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.

The Sun is the source of practically all energy on Earth.

I can see why one might worship it.

Thor however... maybe if you're crazy.

No. They would have to be coppersmiths.
"Can't" and "shouldn't" are two totally separate things.

All questions should be answered. All answers should be true. That is why I post.
