    Need a book recommendation...

Hello everyone, I am looking to further my ASP.Net knowledge, but I don't want to get just another beginning asp.net book. I want something more advanced. Things like the whys and hows of data caching, advanced control usage, etc... Is there anything like that out there? Also it would be cool if there was a little more information on the tweaks you can apply in IIS to further customize a .net web app.

Any recommendations from some of you that have been using ASP.Net for a while and have read a couple of books on it would be cool. I have read 2 asp.net books already, so it definately has to provide more information than the beginning books.

    Thanks,

    Brian

Tell ya what, I just bought 'Programming Microsoft ASP.NET' by Dino Esposito and this book is very technical and covers all the nuts and bolts about ASP.NET. Check it out at amazon.

After looking through the table of contents on that book, that is what I am looking for. I am going to go ahead and order it tomorrow night unless there are other book reviews posted here between now and then.

Thanks Lethal, knew I could count on you...lol.

No problem. I also have Professional ASP.NET 1.0 by wrox and I really like the book. I dont think you can go wrong with either one.

It is pretty good, but only covers the data controls. I think I will be ordering the first one you recommended tonight, unless you believe the other to be more advanced... I am leaving it up to you... lol.

    Hi everyone,

After a period of time of reading. do you both still think that book is a good one?

That is because I would like to find a good book to start with ASP.NET too.

    Please answer with thanks.

Does the book show codes using VB.NET code behind? The table of contents looks interesting.

Instead of studying from book, I have also go to www.asp.net and start to learn the lessons from there.

Does anyone gone through the lessons? Are those lessons good.

    Thank you.
