After burning al 3 CD I ran the VB.NET 2003 CD program and proceeded to select INSTALL HELP FILE and once I inserted the first CD a window kept showing up requesting to insert CD 1. Has anyone had this problem and knows how to resolved it.

    Thanks

I downloaded and installed them off those links with no troubles . The first contains the main setup files , then you can install the additional files from the other two cds . That's weird though..

Do you think changing the name of the files has anything to do with it.

The save as dialog gives you this name: qtr40enud1

I change it to something more meaninful. Don't tell me the file din't like the name I gave it.

Please let me know if this has anything to do with it with my problem. I did burned the CD's with the new name.

Do I positively, absolutely have to burn CD's / Can I just install them off the hard disk?

Yes , you can install them off the HD . That's what I did actually .
You don't need to rename them , because you are extracting the image file to a folder which contains the setup files . Do you still have these three images (the original)??

aaah , I miss my high speed connection these days . Anyways , If you can download them , do so . Then use ISO buster or any ISO extractor program . This will help you to extract these image files to either CDs or to folders on the HD . Try first on the HD . So you should get three folders with whatever names (better to name them something like this : MSDN1 , MSDN2 , MSDN3 , just to know the right order for them ) . Goto the MSDN1 and run the setup and follow the instruction . If you faced any problems just let me know . Luck

I Never used this program before can you give me a hint?

Would the Free Functionality" of the program be enough for what is needed?

    Thanks

I emptied the trash this morning along with those 3 MSDN image files.

    QUESTION:

Do you think I can get those 3 MSDN image files out of the Trash Can if I use Windows XP restore feature?

On control panel select: “Undo changes to your computer with System Restore”

    Is it possible?

I believe no . The restore point is meant to get your system states back to it's last good condition (for registry and system files ) . You can try other programs like : Final Data . It's wonderful . I remember it let me to recover *some* of 3-month old files (that was on FAT32 partition) .

It's been a while since I've had to use System Restore, but I seem to remember it did put files back into the Recycle Bin. There's nothing to lose by trying anyway, you can always undo the System restore if it doesn't work.

Could you please help me I'm having a hard time installing the HELP file from the 3 CD.
For some reason VB.NET program does not recognize the files inside the CD.

A window keeps popping up with this error.

You have inserted the Incorrect Disk. Please insert MSDN disk 1

I already downloaded ISOBuster but I have not idea what to do with it.

    Can you help me please?!!!!!!!

CD 2 and 3 has just one folder named "Program Files" plus a single file named "Setup.hlp".

    Whats next?

On ISOBuster I opened the image that I extracted to the Desktop for the CD#1.

On the list files shown on right pane I right click on the Setup.exe file and chose RUN.

Everything started just fine and and the progress bar started filling after choosing the option to install FULL:

When actual file copying started I inmediatele got this error:
    Code:
Error 1309. Error reading from file:

    C:\Docume~1\Teleme~1.Com\Locals~1\Temp\Program Files\MSDN\2003APR\1033\cscon.hxi.

Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
    What I'm doing wrong?

Ok , I'll give you a hint , it worked for someone I told to do . Before that , you should extracted all the images to three separate folders , run setup then . Anyways , now , you need more space . Copy CD1 folder to different location , then copy the folder named "Program Files" in CD2 & CD3 into CD1 folder . It asks then if you wish to replace the files , click Yes . Now , CD1 should be like 1.7 Gb in size . Run setup . Note , now you have two copies of MSDN 2003 , in case this won't work for you , you still have the original CDs .
