I have a seperate 486 computer. It has an A:\ drive and a D:\ drive, but the D:\ drive cant be acsessed because its using old. Now i want to get rid if DOS on it and put on Linux. I know you can download it so could someone post the links to the minimum needed for installation. And remember, ill be downloading on a 56k and using 3.5 mb disks to install. I know thats alot, but there are othere people who could probably use this too.

Hahahaha.. welcome to the Linux nightmare.. Hahahahaha

They are so disorganized when it comes to downloading it.

Your better off buying it. Red hat 6.4 Proffessional Edition is the BEST version I know of. It has everything. Including Scource AND a Windows Emulator. So buy it. It's not that expensive. At least not compared to MS stuff.

I've heard Mandrake Linux is better. Also, for reliability and lack of bugs, I think SuSe Linux has a good reputation.

While i have personally found that Red Hat has been very stable, we are talking 650mb here, so you can cross that off your download list.

I think SuSe do quite a small distribution, so maybe that is worth a look.

As with all things linux, you should be able to download it for free.
Iain, thats with an i by the way!
