1st - do NOT use the adodc control.
Check out beacon's post (the 1st post of this forum).
2nd - Why return 200000 recs for the datagrid?

reply to tpfkanep
Hello tpfkanep,
Thank you for your reply!
I'm using the adodc1 because I'm a lazy sod (sex pistols)!
About the 200,000 records - well it was my mistake to write it like that - i thought the problem was with the size of the table from the AS400 but i was wrong.
The problem was intalling mdac2.7 on win98se
(with client access 3 (this is an old version))
so with all the mess i had to uninstall the visual basic 6.0 and to unregister/delete files from registry and to install the vb6.0 again and to install mdac2.6
now its working great!!!!
Thank you again,
ERAN
p.s. i spoke with a IBM technical support Ing. and he told me that mdac2.7+win2000 is working fine.
