Hi guys,
Anyone run into anything like this?
I am trying to get interdev working with a visual source safe database that is not on my web server and its not on my workstation its on seperate server.
When I try to add a project to control source from visual interdev I get this: "cannot establish source control for the web application. The server does not have a source control system installed on it, or the user name is not recognized."
Visual interdev seems to always use the srcsafe.ini thats on my web servers VSS common folder.
What I did was I opened this up in notepad and changes the paths to i.e. \\myVSSbox\MyShareC\myvssdatabase
and this actualy works..... But only from the VSS explorer.
Any ideas how i can get this to work from interdev? (if i don't change the paths in the .ini file everything works fine but it uses the vss database on my web server and i don't want that)
Thanks,
Kevin Rea

In order for you to get it to work, Source Safe has to be on the Server.
