    What to use instead of Access .mdb

    Can anyone suggest a database better than Access(faster, hold more data), which is cheap or free? I basically need a good alternative to access.
    The reason for this is that i've used acces for a while, and if it gets to many records it starts screwing up.

    i think he needs a 'portable' database
    There's a certain mystique when I speak, that you notice that it's sorta unique, cause you know it's me
