[Resolved] Memory Problems
I just got some new memory, but when I installed it, the computer beeped once, then three times, then did nothing. Kinda rather ticked me off.
I'm running a P3 800mhz with PC100 64MB memory. I purchased some PC133 256MB, but I couldn't get it working. I checked a few websites and according to them, the memory I bought is compatible with my machine.
Later tonight I'm going to test it on another machine, but does anybody have any ideas why it wouldn't work?

Your motherboard could be picky. Try booting with only the new stick in (put it in the 1st slot - the one closest to the CPU socket). Then stick the old one in in the 2nd slot...try various combinations or something.
Also if you do manage to get booted up run MemTest86 or whatever its called to check for defects.
Otherwise....test it on a different computer (preferably with a different motherboard), and if it still doesn't work, then its probably a RMA-worthy stick.

It worked fine in a friends computer, so I just sold it to him. It doesn't matter anymore, though. As soon as possible, I'm tossing this PC.
