    GDI + headed to hardware?

    This is beginning to confuse me to say the least.

    I thought GDI+ was a software rendered engine...

    But then I found this whitepaper from Dec 2001....

    http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hwdev/...o/GDInext.mspx

    Does this mean our .Net applications will utilize hardware?

    What they mean is that GDI+ will take advantage of hardware acceleration, which is already available. To see difference, goto your Video properite, click Advanced under the Settings tab, then goto the Troubleshoot tab and turn off hardware acceleration. TRy and watch a video, or do anything really and you will see very choppy performance.

    little tip :
    Your Program ---->GDI+ ------->GDI(api) ------->Hardware
    That's how you work with your hardware in VS.NET .
