ICQ

Anyone ever get a ICQ message saying:

Can't establish connection. Check your Internet connection and reconnect ICQ.

What is this? How long does it last? Usually lasts a few hours, but when I go to View Network Status, it says the ICQ is fine. I don't understand why this occurs sometimes, anyone else ever have this probelm with ICQ? (I am using ICQ 2000a)

That happnes to me often...i am using icq99 still... but what usually werks for me is that i turn icq off completley and then restart it.

Yeah, I know that annoying little message! It used to show up whenever I wasn't connected with my dial-up connection. But now I have't seen it since I got a cable connection. That's how I know it's the connection!
I don't know why you get this message if you are already on the net, but I know it's showing up because it can't find a connection to the net!

I have turned off ICQ and restarted the computer, still the same problem .

<cough>piece of crap</cough>

It's going even longer than normal. This really sucks.
I HATE ICQ! Well, right now I do..anyway.

Now it's working!

I ctrl alt del it and Windows and Explorer crashed (what else is new? ) and I just re-loaded it and now it works.

Weird. As again, <cough>piece of crap</cough>.

The same think happened to me a while ago. But I couldn't connect with it for about 4 or 5 months. Man I was PISSED!!!!!!!!! But it hasn't done that since...not yet anyway...
