Help me decide
DDay is here, finally! My choices for a laptop come down to one of the following, but I can't choose between these. The laptops are similar in every way except for processor and RAM. Prices are the same.
Choice 1:
AMD Athlon XP, 1.6 GHZ
256 MB RAM
Choice 2:
Pentium 4 - 1.8 GHZ
128MB RAM
So, which one do I pick?
Thanks.

Definitely the AMD - it's a similar processor to the intel, but the extra RAM will speed the PC up quite a bit (especially if it's dual-channel DDR, like with the NForce2 chipset)

Absolutely Choice 1 as the last benchmarks ran under Windows XP show that the AMD Athlon XP comes out marginally better than a comparable Intel Pentium 4 .
Luck ...

I will go for choice 2 with and add another 128 RAM in it. From my experience all the clients we have had a problem with AMD laptops.
By some reason they lack in performance.
And benchmarking are the ideal condition and trust me they never gives same result at home or private use.
Cheers...

Good Ol' Platypus
Never have I ever had any major problems with AMD. They're quite reliable.
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.
(Just a heads-up)
