    Has anyone noticed MS's new web site design?
    Also what do people make of their comparison of .NET with Java? http://www.microsoft.com/net/developer/net_java.asp
    They are pulling no punches and seem to be making an all out attack on SUN.

    As a great fan of Java, I would have to agree with you.

    Microsoft are making up for the fact that they fell behind in Second Generation development, and are now "Market Leaders" in third generation languages ie .NET. What they seem to have forgotten is that Sun have been devoting a lot of attention to new technology such as Jini and Jiro, which Microsoft haven't even started on. Microsoft are notorius for "forgetting" other Market leading technology created by other companies such as Sun, and presenting themselves as the be all and end all of Application Development. Can you see ASP powered DVD Players (Sun Jini)? I think not. Can you imagine Microsoft writing a new technology that actually does something useful with servers (Sun Jiro)? I think not!
