    Question

    Hi,
As I understand I can create a Browser in VB that needs Internet Explorer to function. If the user has to have an IE installed for your browser to work then what's the point of creating a browser in the first place? If they already have IE on their system why would they use my browser?

    Thanks.
    Thanks

Well, you don't have to. You could always reference the Webbrowser Control to use IE's window instead. It's simple, easy, and you'd be using IE .

But, that is a good question, some people like different things as well, so they may use your browser rather than IE.

    Cool They don't have to..

All you need to include with your app is the IE dll or ocx or whatever it is. They don't have to have IE on their comp, cuz when ur browser is installed on their comp, the dll gets installed and they still have no IE, but ur browser works.

I think that's the main reason for making your own browser, adding capabilities or changing the interface (Neo uses IE too).
You also can make for IE restricting the Internet Access (porn-free browser) or a browser without images for fast loading... I can think if plenty more reasons.
