Upgrading from VS.NET Beta to final release
Hi
I currently have the beta version of VS.NET installed on my machine. A look at the system folder indicates
c:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.2914
I now plan to install the Enterpise Edition of final release (May 2002). Has anyone of you encountered any issues during the upgrade.
Should I first uninstall the current version and then install the new one or should I just install the new one and expect it to automatically detect and remove the old version?
Thanks

I would definately uninstall the beta. I had serious issues and and ended up havinf to reformat to get the final installed. There are all kinds of articles in the Microsoft KB about how to completely uninstall the beta framework none of which worked for me, but hopefully you'll have better luck.

Don't know if its the .NET or what but after uninstalling the beta version of VS.NET and .NET framework my office 2000 applications have suddenly stopped working. When I launch word or excel it is now asking me for the office 2000 CD

Sleep mode
Sometimes , I don't trust uninstaller to do the job for such very big applications .So I reformat the drive and start a new and fresh copy ! just do it
