    compiling to linux

    Is there a compiler to linux?
    Or is there easy way to learn a linux programming lang. like vb?
    I am a vb programmer with a client who has now changed to linux.

    VB will not run under Linux. It is an MS product and relies on the Windows architecture and APIs to operate. I don't know of any VB-like languages for Linux, but that's not to say that there aren't any. Perhaps MS will port the .NET CLR to Linux (if they haven't already), and you could go with .NET
