What do you think about Dark Basic?
I've heard of this program before, I didn't know what it was
about, until a few minutes ago I did a search for it cause I was
bored, it turns out that its a something like VB but its only for
game developing. Well, I wrote this to ask, if its worth it buying it
or, like VB game wise programming, it would be slow and would
take up more space??
if you haven't heard of it heres the site, it looks cool

Good Ol' Platypus
It's not OOP, and some features are broken (when I used it last year). Also, it's lacking the performance you would be getting had you programmed it in a real language.
As you can tell, my experience was less than nice.
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.
(Just a heads-up)

The new Dark BAsic Pro is fine...not anything brokenass our platipus had to experiens a few years ago. But the language is only for game purposes. I wouldn't have wasteded much time learning a language just to make games. That is just my oppinion. But if you want to start to learn it, be sure to pick up the book J.Harbour is just finishing now about game dev in DBasic....

You can do far more with a real programming language... Even with straight VB and DX, you immediately have more power then DB, only because of the flexibility provided.

I have too agree with Zaei there. In DB you can make a 3D box in one line...but with that line you can't do much with it. In a real programming language, the only limit is your brain....(and some skills... )...

You could do it in one with D3DX. THe initialization is a bit longer, but still. It becomes second nature after the first few times.
