Cd -> DVD ??
Along my travels on the internet I've seen a lot of popups for software that claims it can burn DVD's on a CD-R drive. I try not to believe whatever I see in ads, especially on the internet. Is there such a software that does this?

I wouldn't of thought it's possible...
I can't figure how thats possible...
The highest CD-R/RW available is 900Mb, and DVD's are 4.7Gb+.
You can convert DVD's to VCD, which you can store on a CD-R, but the format on a DVD is not written onto a CD-R drive. If you put a DVD in a CD drive, it does nothing, as the heads cannot read the DVD.
I'm not saying it's NOT possible, as I have never heard it before... but the facts alone state it's not.
Good luck in finding one, and let us all know if you do.
Regards,
Paul.

Yes, they are getting away on a technicality. Most burn VCDs or SVCDs.
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.
(Just a heads-up)

Yeah it is not quite what you are expected to believe. These apps are really just Mpeg encoders that rip off the video with a decrease in resolution and without all the menu's and stuff found on DVD.
