What shall I do with the 133mhz laptop?
Ello all,
After around 4 years of not using the laptop my sister finnaly decided I can have it ) Unfourtunatly its now way out of date. It doesnt have any modem, my sister lost the CD drive, and its only 133mhz. I wish I had a good laptop :P Does anyone have any great suggestions on what I should with the laptop? Right now the best thing I can think of is leave a program on it calculating pie for fun and then put it in my cubboard where no one can hear it, see it, and it can still have a powerpoint.

You could make it a firewall with linux on it. If it can be networked that is. I turned my P200 laptop into a firewall, and it works great. Slap linux on it and off i went.

hmm
I might use it as a firewall, I like that idea. Right now Im trying to get Mandrake Linux for an old desktop I have sitting in my room. So maybe I should put them on both opf them. Im having trouble getting it, theres only one more computer store that I havent looked in yet, and its too big to download. Maybe I could put Unix on the old laptop, I would like to learn about, and try out, some systems other than windows. If I were to partition one of my computer's hard drives to put both linux and unix on them, is it possible to undo?

Good Ol' Platypus
Mandrake isn't good for low-spec computers (it's way too bogged-down with junk). May want to try Debian instead... very very powerful but just has the essentials. You can of course still install other packages with the excellent dselect.

Get a network card for it, then you can copy the files directly.
