    SQL Server?

    SQL Server: What is it?
    How do I know if I have it?
    Do I need it for databases?

    The reason why Im asking is that I just bought the book ADO.net Step by Step and within the first two pages it says I need SQL Server to complete th excercises in this book. I think that SQL Server was on my comp at one time but its not anymore (or at least I counldnt find it).


    Sorry very new at this and never heard of it before!

    Any suggestions or comment wouyld be much appreciated!
