    I open the project file but I get nothing up on the screen

    at the right you should see Project Explorer Window, form there double click on FORM1

    if you dont see it there then click VIEW>Project Explorer

    open file

    The easiest way may be to start VB, when you get to the opening screen, click on the "Recent" tab. This will have your files listed. Just open the one you want.
