    Yes you can get your key from your PC if you have the game installed already. Go to Start - Run, enter regedit (dont do anything other than what I say in here or you can mess up your system, unless you know what you are doing lol). On the left side browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SOFTWARE, then Electronic Arts, EA GAMES, Battlefield 1942, ergc. The data string found on the right is your CD key.

    I didnt think it would still store the key in the registry, without encryption or anything`, thanks for the replies.

    there's no real need for encryption when its on a local machine, though there have been virii known to steal popular game CD key's, its not enuff for software manufacturers to worry too much about it
