    586 as File Server

I have an old P1 77mhz setting over in the corner with a 10g harddrive going to waste, and I thought I might use it as a file server.

    Would it be 2 slow?

No. It's perfectly sufficient for a local network You might want to get something like BSD or GNU/Linux on there, rather than trying to squeeze Windows on

Its got Win95 on it... and the comp has given me a heap of trouble when I reformat it, so I don't really wanna touch it.

Can you get a app (low resource usuage) that I could use on my other comp to run stuff on the Win95? Like... the desktop in general?

VNC is probably your best bet.
