Hot keys do not appear
When I create a menu and try to assign a hot key to one of the items (ex. &File would appear with an underscore under the “F”), it appears in the IDE but when I run the app it is not there. I seem to remember something like this when I was using Win98 and found it to be a Windows setting. I’m now using Win2k and Win XP and can not figure out how to make them appear.

Well, I know of one thing that might be hindering them from showing up in windows XP. Take a look at this:

Maybe that will help you. I don't know of anything else that would do that...

I think it's a property of the form.

I believe that is a property of a label but not a form. At least it does not show up in my property browser for the form.

Ahh. I see the problem. DiGiTaIErRoR made a typo. It's spelled like this: IsMnemonic

Oh wait! I know what it is. You're using VB6, aren't you? I'm using .NET. I forgot this is the General VB forum...

Run the app.
Press Alt
The hot keys (underlines) should all be there now.
The hot keys don't appear by default until you hit alt. Internet Explorer, and OLDER versions of word, excel, etc. all behave this way.
"Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Diaper-Head Boy! (there by my name!) Yes, Diaper-Head Boy, who disguised as my son, Seth, fights a never-ending battle for truth, justice and terrorizing my house!
Resistance is futile, you will be compiled . . . Please!

Guys, stop this nonsense, already. Beginning with Win200 it's an option within OS itself: if you want to change it then go to Desktop > Properties and select Effects Tab. Uncheck "Hide keyboard navigators until I use the Alt key".
Cheers

Hehe I know - I don't really either. And about sweat - my cat knows a lot about that when we take him to the vet - he always has sweaty little paws from fright. Hehe
