Any good anti-virus software
I just downloaded the trial version of Norton Anti-virus but it's "trial"...so does anybody know of a good and free anti-virus software?

keeping on top of viruses is hard work, and people who do that kinda work should get paid.
so, no.
however, zonealarm is a good free firewall program that will stop
funky stuff from hittin you machine.
after that, keeping your head on straight and not opening suspicious emails and generally just being careful are the best
defenses.

Try buying original s/w instead of trying to d/l warez. That should protect you.

I didn't download a warez version that's why I was asking for some free anti-virus software...
Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I'll buy Norton.

Not always the case, downloading warez is far from the only way to get a virus!
I like Norton, dunno about you...never liked McAfee much..
I'm bringing geeky back...

I already have McAfee which came with my computer 2 years ago but I don't feel like using it (maybe the CD is all corrupt by now).

I don't think he was looking for illegal versions per se,
sounds like he was looking for some decent freeware.
The point we're all making is that any virus software worth having is worth buying.
I like Norton too. But like Beacon, I know of a handful of people that have had nothing
but headaches with norton. I'm guessing Mcafee and Norton are the ones worth looking at.

Thanks for the link, Parskie. I'll check it out.
Beacon, I never said I want an illegal version. Even I specifcally said that I want some free version.
