PHP and COM Objects
Is there a way to call COM objects, more specifically those created in VB, through PHP?
Sorry if this is the most basic question, but I have just started learning PHP.

Stuck in the 80s
I think you'll find that php.net and it's php documentation are one of the best resources. Go here to check out the COM documentation.
I hope your PHP learning goes well.

Thanks . Just shifted to PHP after a rather long stint with ASP.

Amitabh, what's your opinion of PHP, after having used ASP?

Two things:
Its not as hard as I thought initially. Infact it seems to be quite interesting.
In some cases, it does seem to be faster than ASP, especially where it is PHP/MySQL against ASP/SQL Server combination. But then, these are only small tests I have done.

Man gettoutta hea, php beats asp as far as ease of use/reuse and strenth and speed are concerned... maybe its not as good as asp when compared "ease of use" but "reuse" should be enough to still whoop asp's rear!!
Anyways, ive used both asp and php and the deal is, asp is good for "introducing" yourself to the server scripting... then once you know whats going on, php will get you started and you can go make great websites with it... there are litterally thousands of php code sites out there... most of them offering free code, free php classes, i mean php can do anything asp can and more.. the only thing missing is all the microsoft com stuff, but now that i read this, i guess you can use that too!! So all in all, php kicks ass! (oops, i mean rear)
