Multiple Versions of IE, Netscape, etc

Well... whenever I get round to making a website, I'm only able to test it in the latest browsers, me being the update crazy person that I'am.

Is it possible to have multiple versions of IE stored on the same computer??

I'm guessing no, as they'll use the same files... but you never know..

I don't think you can have different versions of IE, unless you use some software that lets you install multiple versions of Windows or something like that. But I think Netscape and the other browsers are fine. The only thing you have to watch out for is I think NS 7 doesn't like Mozilla being installed at the same time, or at least a certain version of Mozilla.

Build it for IE.

99% of your visitors will be using IE.

But AOL & Compuserver are upgrading to Mozilla so potentially there could be 36million (or however many it is) users with that browser. Not to mention the ordinary people that are using it or another browser already.

When I test any of my websites I always use Netscape 4.6, Netscape 6 and Explorer 6. If it works in Explorer 6 it usually means it's alright in Explorer 5. I'm not sure about the other browswers though.

If in doubt, just keep the site simple. Don't over do it with scripts.
Use tables instead of layers and use CSS.

The other thing is the screen area. I noticed on a friends computer using AOL that the viewable area is actually quite small because of all the crap along the top and sides of the window.
