ok, i've been going through the threads on this forum, and i've kind of gotten the impression that vb6 doesn't support Access 2000 db's. if this is true, is there some way to brute force it to use access 2000, or am i just screwed until vb7 is released??

Yes it does
service pack 4 supports Access 2000. As I seem to remember from when i had this problem it's something to do with needing Jet 4.0 and VB 6 has jet 3.51 with it. Download SP4 and all will become clear :-)

VB7 will fully fit to Access 2000 since Access 97, MS rewrote all of the database thingie so they would know who to makeVB7 support it.
I'm waiting for VB7 too.
