    Files Disappear from Recycle Bin

Sometimes when I delete files to the recycle bin they disappear and I have no way to get them back. I know they are still there as the icon is the "full-bin" one, and I can restore all the files. I dual boot with Win98 and I think that has something to do with it as I don't think I get the problem in 98. Anyone have any idea about this? I seem to loose settings in other apps and around windows too from time to time.

    Oh yeah sorry, I can't believe I didn't mention that it's Win 2000.

FAT32 I assume as I haven't converted to NFTS (or whatever it is). You think that could be the problem?

Yep. I was wondering if that would affect it.

Alright thanks for the input. I'd remove 98 but there are a few apps that don't run under 2000.

A few games, which I'm not really worried about. And Quake III keeps running my refresh rate at 60Hz, so that's horrible. Also my game pad (MS Sidewinder) software doesn't seem to want to run under 2000. And also my scanner, which is a big problem really. I've installed the latest Win2000 drivers for it and it still won't work. I did get it to work through a long winded way, but that seems to have stopped now. It's a Mustek 1200 UB by the way.

    Usually drivers will fix compatibility.

If not I guess you're stuck with something else.

Oh well looks like I'm stuck with having Win98 as well. Thanks for helping though.

    Move on to XP....

    I had a XP machine and a 98 machine...

The 98 machine now runs XP also...

The thing about this OS is it hasn't crashed on me ONCE. And this machine is on continuously...

I did try XP on my old machine but it seems to be quite a bit slower than 2000.
