VB .Net Minimum System Requirements
I am wondering if Visual Basic .Net Standard can be run with a Windows 98 operating system. It seems that VB .Net requires at least Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000. Yet places like CNet show that Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2002 Pro's minimum operating system is Windows98/Me and Buy.com list the minimum operating system for Visual C++ Standard as Windows98/Me.
If anyone can tell me if I can run Visual Basic .Net standard on a Windows 98 machine I would really appreciate it.

I came away with that impression from looking at Microsoft's website but became confused when looking at other places.
Along those lines I presume that if you use Access as your database you are restricted to 2000 or higher?
In addition, if what is needed is a small standalone application with a Access database and needing to learn either VB6 or .Net (and considering the need for upgrading), which way to go would you reccomend?
