    ICQ and VB

    hi,
i'm making a sms program with vb that uses ICQ. everything works fine but now i want to know how i can register ICQ accounts from my appilication so the users of my program don't need to install icq or go to the icq website to register an account.

i tried it with the icqudp5.ocx but most of the time it just blocks and doesn't register a new account at all. an other solution would be studying the whole icq protocol but that would take a lot of time for such a little thing so it's not my intension to do this.

are there maybe people who already made a program doing this? or are there other and better ocx files?

hope someone can help me...i really need this one...

    thx,
    Moperke

Well there is an open source standard callled Jabber that lets you connect to ICQ, MSN, AIM, Yahoo and IRC, and the client I use (which was recommend by some people here ) just redirects people to http://go.icq.com/register/ But maybe you should think about using the Jabber standard from http://www.jabber.org/ - but be aware that there are loads of clients already
