PHP4 vs ASP.Net
Im gonna get an etrade site designed very soon. I've been debating whether to get it done in PHP4 or ASP.NET.... My main reason for liking ASP.NEt is that i heard it has great designing capabilities while PHP is more on executing tasks. However I'd prefer PHP4 because dedicated hosting for is much more cheaper. The site im gonna get designed is gonna be very dynamic and would make use of Flash, DHTML, Java, etc..
would it be possible to create a great looking and dynamic site in PHP? And would it be possible to add Flash, DHTML, Java and other web technologies to it? I dont know a jack about web designing so i'd appreciate your comments and opinions.

Flash, DHTML, and JavaScripts generaly run on the client, so they shouldn't play into the server end of things at all.
I have experience with both PHP and ASP (and a little ASP.NET). So far, there isn't anything ASP can do that PHP can't. Now here's the interesting part. It is possibleto run PHP on a Windows box (I do at home), so you could create a site that uses both PHP AND ASP web pages!
If you are looking into an E-trade sort ofthing, the biggest question would be security (both support HTTPS) and stability (don't want the server going down in the middle of a transaction.)
If there are any other ??'s I can answer, let me know.
