I know it's not much, but...
...I shaved 2 degrees centigrade off my CPU temperature by changing some of the fans round and rearranging the power cables to keep them well away from the case->CPU->case airflow.
Anyone else got any tips on keeping the airflow going well?

I have a crap load of fans on a 2nd power supply... at the present time, my computer reports:
80°F - Sensor 1
92°F - Sensor 2
105°F - Processor
It's a Duron 1GHz on an ECS K7S5A motherboard with 384MB PC133 and a GeForce3 Ti200. I have no clue what/where the first two sensors measure the temp, but I know that's not very hot considering the computer has been one for 3 days straight running Genome@Home the whole time.
My suggestions to keep your case cool... get one of those Hard Drive cooling panels, or make your own (like me) and put as many fans as you can get in there, without messing up the airflow. Airflow is key to keeping the computer cool. The best way to do it is to intake from the bottom front, and exhaust out the top and top back.

I would assume the first is case, the second is chipset.
One moment while I change my units over to that bizarre Fahrenheit....
...Done
Case: 82 F
Processor: 120 F
This is an Athlon XP 1800+ running at 1.62 with an 140 front-side bus, so all the other cards are going to give off more heat.
I have an 80mm on the CPU, and two 80mm in the case right by it sucking air *out*, and I also have a fan in the side panel by the expansion cards bringing air *in*. I could do with another fan in the front at the bottom, I know, I just don't have any left

I replaced my old flat IDE cables with round ones and that knocked off a couple of degrees.

I got another proggy that said it was a bit better than that
retired member. Thanks for everything

How many have seen, read the article or heard of water cooled pc's. Yes, I said water cooled, kinda shocked when I first saw it too. But, what it is, is basically a radiator running cool water through clear plastic hoses in you're pc. If I recall correctly it can keep temp's. down to 70 degree's fareignheit. I wouldnt have the gut's to try and install one in my pc because the minute I got it running, my hose would probably bust off and spew water all over my pc.

Have you been living in a cave? Thousands of people are doing watercooling on their systems... www.koolance.com has prebuilt cases with watercooling already installed, you just put your parts in there, fill it with water, and start it up. Now what is crazy is the people that use liquid nitrogen to cool their computers. People have got their P4s up to 3.9GHz using liquid nitrogen in a cup on top of their processor... that's way more crazy than water cooling.
