    Exclamation Campaign for better smilies

Can we have some new and better smilies. During my exile on another board the past week, I noticed how dull and limiting the current set are. It can't be that hard. What do you think?

    Yes. I agree with RSingh.
We need more energetic and expressive smilies.
And, It will be better if the smilie size is little bigger.

Let's have more smilies. Every other forum that I'm a member of has at least 15 smilies.

Well try doing something about it, instead of all just agreeing? Search for smilies, do all the work for the admins, post them, etc. and maybe they'll pull for you
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.

If anyone posts some new ones I'd be happy to try to add some. I can't promise to add all of them however because some of you guys are just a little bit too imaginative

Ok, txt file included in zip with different ideas for what text to associate the images with and below too.

    Code:
    undecided.gif - :\ or :| or :undecided:
aniroll.gif - :rolleyes2: or replace the one we have
    anitear.gif - :*( or
    aniwink.gif - ;) or
    wave.gif - or *wave*

Sounds fair to me. Do you have to be administrator to add smilies or can just a mod do it? Or are you are supermodulisticadministrator type guy?

    Hmmm......

This looks like a very old thread that has been resurected. I've not added smilies to any of our forums, but I have no issue with adding new ones. I believe it is simple to do. If someone wants to send me a few, I'd be glad to try adding them.

My only requirement is that the person giving them be the person that created them. The person submitting them needs to own the rights to the smilie. If you don't own them, let me know and I'll see if I can tap a designer to use any examples you provide.

My other "only" requirement is that they be PG-13 (or lower).

There are a number of basic smilies that I don't think anyone would claim. As smilies get more complex, they tend to become artwork (and thus potentially protected). For example, there is a spam message (and very common pop-up) that lists a zillion (roughly ) smilies. I'd rather have an original than one of those.

I added the big yellow grin to the smilies, so I know I can get them added . Of course, the first good one given to me will replace

Rather than a big blue grin, I'd rather see someone with some graphics talent try to make some new and interesting ones -- or take the current ones and add animation to them (as animated .gifs). My abilities on the artistic site are pretty bad or I'd do it. I started to animate the wink( and gave up.
