console games
ok, im curious, does anyone know if consoles (ps2, xbox, n64...etc) are programmed in c or whatnot? i mean, it would be logical if they all ran on c and that would be the easiest way to go cross-console...
maybe assembly, but that would be really difficult for the programmers...

I think almost all games on any platform are C or C++

The X-Box is DirectX, so C++.

Console can be written in C/C++ but you have to be a licensed developer. I found a free C++ compiler for PSX and a C compiler for Old BW Nintendo Game boy.
You can go here and buy Cross platform C/C++ development tools including PSX and Nintendo stuff. You still have to a licensed developer which cost like a couple thousand $....
