    Ok it's got to be an Intel CPU.... but

    Is there really that much difference between a P4 1.8 chip and a 2.2 chip. Also is it a better bet to go with dual P3 CPUs

    Jello...why does it have to be an Intel? Is it company policy?

    Or is this for that server you said you'd build for "stuff"..

    Depends on what model of P4. If it's a P4 Willamette (determined by 256K of L2 cache) then it's going to be a lot slower than a P4 Northwood (512K of L2 cache). All 2.2s are Northwoods but some 1.8s are Williamettes.

    Remember:
    Williamette = no
    Northwood = yes
    Athlon XP = yes yes yes
    I'm bringing geeky back...

    Duals P3s are nice.

    Dual AMDs are better.

    Don't Northwoods only start at 2.0? Hence the P4 2.0a
