Problem with upgrading activex controls
Sometimes when changing something in the code of the activex control and recompile/recreate the ocx file for the activex control it won't seem to upgrade but rather overwrite it self and get a new location in the registry. This means that other programs using the control can't find it and you have to remove it from the new program and add the control again and modify it's properties etc etc. One way around this is to edit the vbp file of the program manually and change to the correct key in the registry. But there must be a easier way?! Why does this occur in the first place? It's soooo annoying, especially when you're creating programs the way I do which builds on small activex components that together form a new control which later leads to other controls etc. And yes, the "upgrade activex controls" box in settings is checked. But it doesn't seem to help much.. Please help me since it VERY time consuming for me since many of my activex controls have lots of properties to be set etc, and everytime you change a tiny little thing you have to set all properties again.
